I have been having so much fun playing with the Changing Leaves Bundle! I wanted to use my new Dry Brushed Metallic DSP so I thought I’d combine it with some of the pretty leaves from the Changing Leaves Bundle. (You can’t tell from the photos, but the DSP has a beautiful metallic shine to it.) To create my card, I started with a standard sized A2 Thick White Cardstock card base. After I trimmed ½” off the right side of the front panel, I embossed it using the Changing Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. Then I adhered a piece of 3⅞” x 5½” Balmy Blue cardstock to the inside of the front panel so that a thin strip of blue shows when the card is closed.
After embossing/die cutting the large leaves from Thick White cardstock, I added some Petal Pink and Balmy Blue ink with a Blending Brush to coordinate with the pretty metallic colors in the DSP. I also die cut some of the more detailed leaves/stems from the DSP. After adhering them to the card base, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto a banner shape die cut from one of the smaller banners in the Stylish Shapes Dies. (This is one of my favorite die sets because there are so many shapes and sizes to choose from!) After adhering the banner to my card with some Dimensionals, I wanted to add a small bow, but I didn’t have any thread that matched. So I added some Balmy Blue ink to a piece of Gray Linen Thread with a Sponge Dauber and tied a bow around the stem of the die cut leaves.
To finish off the card, I adhered a piece of ¾” x 5½” DSP to the inside and added a small strip of Balmy Blue cardstock over the seam so that you can see the pretty DSP when the card is closed. I love the soft elegant look that the embossed leaves and metallic DSP give to the card.
