Tea Time Invitation

Our church had a Ladies Spring Tea a couple of weeks ago and they asked me to make the invitations. I agreed before they told me that they needed 140 of them! Oh My! I had lots of great ideas but needed to simplify it A LOT in order to make so many. I used Close to my Heart’s adorable new Tea Time stamp set along with the Tea for Two set from Papertrey Ink. The two sets worked really well together. I stamped the tea pot on some small doilies I got at Walmart in Blush ink and then stamped the sentiment on top in Cocoa ink. I layered the 5″x5″ cards with paper from the Sophia Collection and added a little pink organdy ribbon bow.

The inside was printed on some White Daisy cardstock. I stamped the little flowers and tea cup (from the Tea Time set) in Blush ink, matted it on some Sweet Leaf cardstock and was done. Then I only had 139 more to go! Ugg!

My darling husband, who normally runs out of the room as fast as he can when he hears the words “stamp,” “scrapbook,” or “Close to my Heart,” actually offered to help me at midnight when I just couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I HAD to get a picture of it and teased him that I was going to post it all over the internet. (And here I am posting it on my blog. hee-hee.) He actually got pretty comfortable using the Bonding Memories Glue after a while. When he asked me if he could try stamping, I almost fell on the floor. I would have loved to show him how, but all of the stamping was done and I really needed to get the rest of them glued before church the next day. I will try to entice him with a private stamping class another time. *Ü*

All supplies used from Close to my Heart unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Tea Time, Tea for Two (PTI)
Paper: Sophia, Sweet Leaf & White Daisy CS
Inks: Blush, Cocoa
Other: Doilies, Pink Organdy Ribbon (CTMH retired)

  1. I made tea invitations for the ladies on my block this weekend using the Tea Time My Acrylix – so adorable!
It looks like I'll be having a good turnout, too!
    Wish you could come!
    Very cute 140 cards!

  2. Bless his heart for helping you out! It's a beautiful invitation but I am guessing you were pretty tired of it after 140!! I did a card class at our library and had to prep 20 cards and I thought that was bad! ha! Beautiful work, Lisa!

  3. Hi Lisa! These invitations are so sweet! Love the lace doily, and the inside is very pretty too. I'd love for my hubby to be my hobby assistant sometimes, but then he might expect me to help him out at his hobby (hunting, yuck) 🙂

  4. No way! He is a keeper! The card is perfect too. I can't believe you had all of that to do right about the time that your 'secret box of goodies' was due to arrive. You rock!
